Conducted my first teaching session at 12.05 today (Tues. 1st July).
I went into the Cal Lab. and started chatting to a 2nd-year Med. student about the course. She commented that the new curriculum was good, but that more instruction was needed with finding information. She then reinforced her comments by stating: "Here I am looking on Wikipedia for information on drugs, and that's not good". So I told her what my role is, and then had a one-on-one training session on using Medline - which she'd never used. The student was very happy, and I left her familiarising herself with Medline.
I told her that I'm stationing myself out side the Cal Lab. - so let's hope the word starts spreading.
The lesson to drawn from this for us is that we rove around the Cal Lab. periodically.
