Student buy-in: looking for avenues

Exploring ways to gain further student buy-in with the Hunter Librarian role.
Following discussions with Medical Librarian and the Learning Services Librarian one way to achieve this was identified as important, and could be worked through immediately - to raise the profile of the Hunter Librarian, i.e., just increase visibility with the students

Identified 3 avenues to explore:
1. Attend student presentations & lectures (an idea posited by Simon Hart)
- sat in on Year-3 presentations last week

2. Assist with training sessions
- assisted with PubMed training session for OTDE group (Overseas Trained Dentists) on Mon. Aug. 25th

3. Desk duty in Medical Library
- was rostered onto Central desk duty, from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon for last three weeks (found this useful, and doing same for Med. Lib. this week)

The reasoning underpinning exploring these 3 avenues is that by getting involved in these activities students will start to "recognise", and "identify", me as a member of Medical Library staff, then notice me at the Hunter Centre, and make the connection with me as being the Medical Library presence in the Centre
